12v into 6v radio mains feed

hi plugged a 12 v dc into my radio it buzzed then i disconnected it
now digital display works but i have no volume/sound on set
what have i damaged and could it be repaired
it is a sangean ats 404..............

Usually when this happens you may blow the audio output chip, or some protective diode, since the display is OK I would suspect the audio output ic.

Sometimes you can see tell tale burn marks on the chip or even smell the burn.
