Ok
So the resistance of the U31 Vin and Vout with everything connected I get 0hms.
With the Amp pcb unplugged I get 4.03Kohms.
Just in reference to your last post there I get 0 volts off #1 of J3
and 0 volts pin #9 of CN2 at the SMPS.
There is -12v at pin ( this is with black lead in pin 9 on cn2 and red in pin 7 of cn2) Not sure if this is how I was supposed to read that one. |

With all these points I'm Just measuring volts with the unit powered up?

Measuring between the points indicated (red meter lead) and any convenient point connected to GND (black meter lead).
I think you'll find that any 'Standby mode' voltages will also be present in 'run/switched mode' ('Standby' = unit plugged into mains)('run/switched' = unit plugged into mains and the power button has been pressed).
You could make two columns: SB and Run and measure each point twice. Once in SB mode and then again in Run Mode.

Were gonna try to keep this simple. With the unit fully reconnected, with all known bad parts replaced (supposedly with 'correct' replacement parts), you have repeatedly indicated that with ALL connected normally, the unit will NOT fire up. I'm trying to get a handle on which supply(ies) that connect to the amplifier board via CN2 are involved.
Do ALL the power supplies fire up with ONLY CN2 unplugged?
If your answer to this is 'NO,' then ALL question marks will be replaced with '0.' If your answer to this is 'YES,' then ALL question marks will be replaced by numbers. if your answer to this is 'Other,' then question marks will be replaced with a mixture of '0' and numbers.
There are 8 different supplies - 6 positive and 2 negative. I'll give you the capacitor to measure ACROSS & even tell you whether to expect a positive or negative reading, so all you have to do is report a zero or a number in place of the question mark.
I put a new diode in D31 and everything connected.
I unscrewed the board and tested from the underside? seemed the only way to get to the different parts
The D31 diode started smoking?
standby power was
C92 = +? +250v
C41 = -? +22.2v
C1 = +? +28v
C81 = +? +11.85v
C11 = -? +50v This was not negative
C31 = +? -16 to -30v it was fluctuating
C51 = +? +6.02v
C71 = +? +5.6v
I tested all voltages a few times to confirm results, It would not go to switched/run mode so i couldn't measure those voltages in that mode.
I tried disconnecting the CN2 only and still would not go to switch/run. _________________ .. |
