Problems with my 37" panasonic TV

I received this television free from a friend and now it keeps shutting off on its own and wont turn back on for a little while. Then when it finally does it only lasts about 3 minutes and will shut off again for awhile. Anyone suggestions?

did you resolve this issue? I have the same problem with my pv-df2004, all of a sudden.
