This set will not come out of standby and I cannot find a service manual nor the type of chasis.

Can anybody help?

First thing. plug the set , don't turn on power, You should check voltage at the BIG CAP {MAIN SMOOTHING CAP}. You should have 155v more or less.Then see if you have same volts at midle leg of the Hot (C)not the other legs, if volts at the hot {C}is higher then at the main cap, probably is running ok, your problem is some othe place,
