Dead Toshiba C2146TN Television

Can anyone advise on a seemingly dead Toshiba C2146TN ?

When I switch the main "on" button the red light on the front comes on and that's it - no sound, no picture.

I'm no expert so the best I could do was to have a careful look with the back off - nothing obvious - the fuse on the board was ok - the only thing visible of note was where the legs of the (large) T70 transisitor came thro' the board - it looked as if they have suffered excessive heat - solder looked poor. The numbers on the transistor are 2260291 / 9541M.

Can anyone confirm if failure of this part could explain the failure - if so I'll have a go at replacing it (assuming I can get one)

MEASURE TRANSISTOR WITH A METER,IF NOT FAULTY YOU COULD TRY AND RESOLDER IT.ALSO CHECK AROUND FOR MORE POOR SOLDER CONNECTIONS ONCE BOARD IS OUT.
