Toshiba DVD/Video Recorder

After a power outage my remote doesn't work. The DVD screen is frozen and can't be reset. Batteries in the remote are replaced & new. Could it be the remote sensor on the DVD recorder?

Yes, most likely, but all these things need narrowing down in order of probability by an experienced person. If you can try another remote, & it works, then your remote is faulty- if a known good remote don,t work, then you have a problem- could be ir receiver, or further on.
