i have a phillips tv model29 pt8321/7r found out a shorted diode inside,any other idea what`s the reason why the diode was busted?

the only biggest diode inside the board with markings of SB306 .

I`m afraid to turn on again the TV after i replaced the diode bec. I knew that there was a reason why the diode got busted.

If you don't know enough about the tv to understand the fundamentals of the power supply, you probably shouldn't try and fix it yourself. These things can be dangerous.

thank you for your info,i have already check another shorted part transistor type diode -p5nb60 pf. after i replaced it and turned on the tv and it works.
