Ford 2006 RDS (dolby system) removal

ok, this is my stock receiver unit on my 1994 Ford Escort (british spec) - I need the right size receiver handles so I can remove it. Anyone know if I can use something other than the normal tool? Any tips on removing this would help, I have never done it before. Thanks.

Sure thing, i have used heavy gauge (wire) coat hangers many times. I just bent them into two horseshoe shapes. The trick is to get them to release simultaneously as if you release just one side it will jam, and you will have to push it back and start over.

The simultaneously release is trickier than it sounds! I tried it and the handers got pretty mangled which left feeling for when to push in pretty tricky. Am I right in thinking there's a bit of skill/feel needed for this?
