|
|
When I insert a dvd into my Panasonic s75 the tray stops before it closes.
If I push it shut I get a "no disk" message.
Is this easily repairable or is it a bin job?
Thanks |

AFTER INSERTING THE DISC SEE IF IT ROTATES, IF IT DOES NOT GIVE IT A NUDGE TO SEE IF IT STARTS TO ROTATE, IF IT THEN ROTATES THE SPINDLE MOTOR IS PROBABLY U/S, CHECK ITS RESISTANCE TO BE SURE, IT SHOULD BE BETWEEN 12R & 14R AT ALL POINTS OF ROTATION. |

TAKE THE LID OFF THE SET, WHEN THE TRAY CLOSES YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE THE DISC IN THE MECH, I USUALLY USE A COTTON BUD TO GIVE IT A START IN THE CLOCKWISE DIRECTION. |

When I press the "close" button the tray starts to close then stops. The little piston that appears to close the tray moves a few times then stops. If I push the tray closed the disk just sits in the tray- the "spindle" appears not to move up to the disk (as I guess it thinks the tray is still open). So no it doesn't move if I touch the dvd.
Ideas? |

MECHANICAL ALIGNMENT IS POSSIBLY INCORRECT, EVERYTHING ON THIS MODEL IS DRIVEN FROM THE SLED MOTOR, IF TRAY IS OUT BY 1 TOOTH IT WILL FAIL TO LOAD CORRECTLY. NOT AN EASY MECH TO RESET, SEND ME YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS AND I WILL SEND YOU THE INSTUCTIONS |

It opens correctly, just stops on the close. Which section is for realigning the tray?
Thanks again |
