14-08-2008 | Salora sp2 | My salora maestro 28" tv is dead. I found flyback diode bym36e which was broken. I reply the diode but it broken again. Where is the fault? |
14-08-2008 | | Okay, thanks very much. Is the power supply you mentioned also on that board? |
14-08-2008 | | Hi minnie,
Thanks for the time invested.
I'll take it off the wall this weekend (sigh) and have a look.
If it is possible for me to remove the driver board, for example, do you think it's worth replacing?
I understand it's just a guess, but the boards |
14-08-2008 | | Any idea? I dont find any short circuit flyback line. |

14-08-2008 | Philips Magnavox 60in RPTV Picture Size Problem? | Philips Magnavox 7P6033 W101
Hello:
The picture looks fine and then goes small (about 2/3s of the correct screen size) then back to normal size, this back and forth continues.
I have had two times that after the TV had set for some time, we move |
14-08-2008 | | LCD repair. Lets see, you have the panel, you have the inverters, you have a power supply, you have an audio/video board, you have a t-conn board, and you have a digital main board. "Sound no picture." Do you have 24vdc to the inverters? No. Pow |
14-08-2008 | | Can you post a picture? Does it decrease from top to bottom or left to right? |

Not familiar with the set but tried looking at the diagram ...
are you saying the diode keeps shorting out right away--(what do you mean by broken?) |

14-08-2008 | 50ux58b | Minnie,
Read the posts about replacing C707 & E994. My TV has the same symptoms as others - and C707 has a black spot on it. A TV tech came out and confirmed that these two parts need to be replaced, but also says I need a new transformer. It is a |
14-08-2008 | | I'd have to see the service manual. If you have it, email it to me. |
14-08-2008 | | Bull shit. Order the parts, the cap and pico fuse, put them in and go from there. It may, but doubt it. Damn tv repair people! |
15-08-2008 | | This Parts & Service manual can now be purchased for $9.99 and downloaded immediately after payment from:

15-08-2008 | | minnie, THANKS for the reply.
I have found similar item schematics but not this one. At any rate, the schematics aren't telling me how to trouble shoot what's up. This problem is talked about in other threads but I haven't seen any solutions. It |
15-08-2008 | | Minnie,
My TV has the exact same symptoms as stated in the previous posts. I have replaced e994 and c707 per instructions (twice), but it still does the same thing. Can you tell me where I should look next? Thanks
Ben |
15-08-2008 | | On a further note, I tested e994, e995, and e996 and they all came up with 0.00 on my ohm meter. I seem to remember that a Zero reading on pico fuses meant that the fuse was good. I am not sure what c707 should test at. Any thoughts? Thanks

15-08-2008 | | The diode is VO30 (BYM36E). Yes I mean shorting out. I think that current rise too high, but I don't find any fault . TV tried to start but then diode shorting out. |

That is definitely your main DC (150v) |

15-08-2008 | | I dont't have variac so I have to try isolate. How I isolate all the places U1? What is the component that regulate the system? |
15-08-2008 | | Thanks vtech. I was starting to think it probably would be uneconomical to repair this as it was built in 1992. Great receiver until this problem happened though, excellent sound. So it's disappointing.
I'm guessing though the repair bill would prob |
15-08-2008 | | In fact i have more interesting in 'spare parts suppliers' for different lcd manufacturers... |
15-08-2008 | | yes |
15-08-2008 | | unfortunately it is most likely the plasma panel has failed, old unit, only 32" plasma i have ever seen, sony no longer even make plasmas only lcds. |
15-08-2008 | test | only a test |
15-08-2008 | | test only |
15-08-2008 | | I don't think the power supply can deliver so much current that just the current would damage the VO30. It is more likely that it is too high voltage across the diode that causes it to fail.
Check the snubber network across the diode, RO107 and CO074. |
15-08-2008 | | Thanks Gary.
It is indeed a philips CRT. If the blue + flyback can't be cured, there's no point in repairing. There's no fix for this that you know of?
(it's a nice TV, seems a shame to just bin it)
I'd managed to improve the pincushion a bit in |
15-08-2008 | | My wife turned the TV on to see if she could watch a little of the Olympics. The screen was going big and small so I told her to turn it off, I was going to take some pictures in a little bit to post.
