22-03-2009 | | Does the Q804 or the Q800 have both + and - leads or should I wire the fan to the - ground on the chassis? |
22-03-2009 | | Both points reference chassis ground. |
22-03-2009 | | Can you substitute with an external power source as "test"?
Just make sure ratings are similar. If, for example, the 11 volt supply you mention is up to 3 amps, you could use a 12 volt supply (at any current rating equal or exceeding 3 amps) |
22-03-2009 | | You have raw B-Plus. What about stand-by(s)? What about secondaries? |

22-03-2009 | Panasonic DRM-ES30 | Hello!
I have a Panasonic DRM-ES30 DVD-VHS with a problem.

22-03-2009 | Dell 1707fp | Thanks for the suggestion.
That was my next test. The DC converter has overcurrent and thermal protection built in. If it's not the chip itself, something else is pulling it down. It does get very toasty. |

22-03-2009 | | There is raw B-Plus. I think transformer is dead. |
23-03-2009 | | Raw B-Plus must be on one terminal of the regulator.
The regulator drive IC must have a "start-up" voltage (usually derived from Raw B-Plus through high value resistors).
Regulator drive IC must output a drive signal to regulator for it to wor |

23-03-2009 | | Wired fan to Q804, unit would not power on. I tested Q804 with a multimeter, it shows 5v when the amp is off. The fan needs 5v DC, any DC points anywhere? |
23-03-2009 | | Got it, thanks everyone |

23-03-2009 | | Got the fan wired to a switch. The fan powers up no problem when the amp is off. However, when I turn the amp on and then flip the switch for the fan, the amp shuts down. |
23-03-2009 | | How big is this 5 volt fan? How much current does it draw?
5.6 volt is stand-by source - 2SD1387 should handle up to 2 amps if I read the datasheet correctly. |
23-03-2009 | | It is one fan housing with two 80mm fans in it, each drawing .21A |
23-03-2009 | | I assume they run with no problem on a 5 volt external supply.
Must be too much of a load when hooked to the standby supply.
Could try off one of the 9 volt or higher supplies, maybe with a three-terminal 5 volt regulator IC? |
23-03-2009 | | Can you tell exactly which make and model of CD changer you have, and what equipment you are going to connect it to? |
23-03-2009 | CD changer Wire | I think your question is inadequate to answer the doubt.be more specific as to your question with the model name and description and also the wire that you are using.Connecting to what? |
