16-01-2007classic example of a low crt on a sony, especialy if the background is not black and has a slight colour cast, slight adjustment of g2 voltage may help for a short while.
16-01-2007faultC2523 6.8uf can cause this. Also thyristor 6641. Try putting a soldering iron on the end of each capacitor then switch on the set. This usually finds the culprit. Allan
16-01-2007faultCould be a faulty positor. Remove the old one. If it rattles its faulty. Replace the fuse, then switch the set on without putting a new positor in. If it works the old positor is faulty. If the fuse blows again there's a short circuit somewhere in the psu
