31-05-2009 | Hitachi 50EX10B - RED Horiz Convergence out, then ALL out | A friend recently donated the TV to me because he thought I might be able to fix it. The problem materialized in his possession... RED became bowed in from the left side of the screen throwing off the convergence of RED. He tried adjusting the convergen |
31-05-2009 | | I read somewhere that STK4274 and STK390-120 are interchangeable. Can anyone verify this? |

Sorry, I meant STK392-120... |
31-05-2009 | | When the CUSTOMER convergence controls were NOT working, why would you then expect the SERVICE ones to respond? :?:
Once you discovered the customer controls dead - that's the point you should have thrown parts at it.
NOW instead of, most likel |
31-05-2009 | | Always best to replace "like" with "like!" |

31-05-2009 | | The Customer controls are the ones the user has access to without any set disassembly - The service controls either require partial disassemble to access OR a [b:44868c57f2]special service menu[/b:44868c57f2] needs to be accessed.
Any way you look at i |
31-05-2009 | | What jts1957 means is now you have to replace the convergence ic's and check the bias resistors. |
31-05-2009 | | [quote:f128b40bc0="jts1957"] ... you're going to have to check resistors and swap IC's, so may as well start there. ... [/quote:f128b40bc0]
I thought I just said that. :? |
31-05-2009 | | E995 is your 27 volts which goes to the convergence E996 is your M23 which also goes to the convergence so, I'd bet your convergence ic's crapped out. |
31-05-2009 | | The dvd player is junk. Welcome to the throw away world. I'd suspect A bad processor but the number you listed doesn't come up. |
31-05-2009 | | If it has osd and no picture I'd replace the jungle ic. |
31-05-2009 | | I'd contact justmanuals. I looked on their site no service manual. |
31-05-2009 | | Whats the ctc number? |
31-05-2009 | | Not a "jungle" IC as we are used to.
VIF/SIF is in above IC. I presume Video/OSD/Chroma/Def, etc. is in (at least) 2nd IC.
Even if this 2nd chip is the cause shouldn't he still be getting sound? |
31-05-2009 | | NOT CTC - ATC113 series 8) |

I did get that out of the fir |
01-06-2009 | | jts1957 can be a little short, I don't ever recall having to replace any resistors when replacing the STK4274's . These are transistors not STK's. Replace them and post back. |

CTC or ATC God I hate RCA! Not as bad as phillips though.
Pull L14401 and clean the ends and resolder. |

01-06-2009 | | Check any electrolytic capacitors connected on pins 4 to 7. Also: any AGC pots? Do they behave correctly?
How does DVD player connected to video input work now? |
