23-02-2006picture wider than screen... RCA TV Model # F27702SBHello, I own a RCA TV Model # F27702SB Chassis # CTC169CA6. The issue I'm seeing is that the TV picture is wider than the screen itself. It's 10 yrs old now and I realize its probably due to age. Is there any adjustments I can make? Thanks, Lee

23-02-2006I found the small screw type adjusters on the back. Of course the width adjuster is not responding to any movement. Bad solder joint or bad adjuster?

23-02-2006widerdo not adjust check first for bad electrolitic capacitor on the pin amp section and also check for horizontal discharge capacitor on the collector of the horizontal output transistor ok
23-02-2006check the aft ckt. first and if no problem adjust the aft if ....if u have instrument like a scope or any thing usefull fine use it and check the frequency
23-02-2006find a good diagram and look for the mute ckt of the audio section........try to hang the mute pin on the ic of audio amp. if its not present somrtimes its the input transistor of the audio stage some times the transisor are the muting drive open the base
23-02-2006sonyhard to say but maybe the picture tube is slowly deteriorating check for negative voltage of your [g] pins and screen voltage......increasing the screen voltage can fix the problem temporaryly

23-02-2006Sounds like a problem with take-up or supply reel sensor. Pay attention to viewfinder &/or LCD monitor. There should be a3 digit error code displayed like Fxx or Uxx which points to the problem. What code is showing?
