07-07-2006Sounds like a power supply problem or HV shutdown. The shutdown circuit may have a defective diode or transistor making it shut down on its own.

08-07-2006The BIOS is small, it fits in a chip. I guess your CDROM was made after your BIOS was made. Windows is large, it fits on a hard drive, so it is able to detect much more equipment. :)
