04-02-2009 | | Something to think about.
What is your life worth?
Rewiring an electric heater to save energy is dangerous. An AC switch will not carry DC current. That switch will burn out and cause a fire.
In 2008 Australia, there were 11,000 electrical house |
04-02-2009 | | Only thing I know that it was not made by Proton---it was Protron Digital which filed for chapter 11 on 08. No idea about the manual though? |
04-02-2009 | | Thanks vtech.
I understand now what you meant when you said you drew it out. Do you suppose if I put a strap across the relay contacts and just removed the SMPS, that the unit would work, but if it was turned off, there would be no turning it on with |
04-02-2009 | | It seems to be remarkably low currents. Are you sure that you had your DMM set to measure AC current?
But then, you should observe that if you measure current and voltage and just multiply the numbers, then you don't get the active power which is measu |
04-02-2009 | | Thank you very much for the information of where to buy this part!
Can someone help me with instructions on how to replace this part on the Sony KV 32V65? |

04-02-2009 | sanyo ce28 wn5 b | Does anyone know how to access the service mode for the above television. I have a greenish greyscale? What remote keys to press to enter service mode? |
04-02-2009 | what set top box? | Could someone recommend a good set top box that has RF loop thro and good lip sync that does not freeze up to much? I live in a weak signal area and have the mast head amps to boost the signal.
Kind Regards |
04-02-2009 | | I soldered a strap across the power relay contacts. When the power switch is turned on, the standby light now flashes. No sound and no display, and no reaction to remote. Don't know how to get it out of standby.
I assume it needs the voltages produc |
04-02-2009 | | I don't have the service manual for this particular model, but I do have one for a similar model the ce28wn3b model.
Anyhow, try this:
To enter to the Service Mode
+ Press and hold the GREEN button on the remote control and then press the Pt button i |
04-02-2009 | | I have checked all the components as mentioned .Everything is OK.I notice Q802 should turn on to provide +13 at collector of Q802.This is happening without 0.6volt across base and emitter of Q802. Turn on bias occur when you initially on the set.Q806 ba |

04-02-2009 | | There is no voltage on the -15v rail. The resistance was around 400 ohms. Also discovered that the resistive fuses from pin 4 and pin 6 from the supply voltage (R141 and R142) were open circuit too. So replaced them and they blew once unit was powered on. |
04-02-2009 | | I sent an Email to FSP (the manufacturer of the power supply)
and requested a schematic. I’ll see how cooperative they are. |
04-02-2009 | Re: Convergence IC guide | [quote:c2f4b2bed1="minnie"]It seems that counterfeit convergence IC’s are hitting the market again.
STK392-020 can be replaced w/STK392-040.
STK392-110 can be replaced w/STK392-150 or STK392-180.
All others use what’s in there. If you’re going to do it |
04-02-2009 | | Completely forgot about the rest of the SMPS; (CN4 which goes to CN205 and indeed provides extra DC levels needed)
and yes, jumping RY201 is not going to provide any of them.
Bottom line, SMPS has to be fully operating as you have indicated. |

04-02-2009 | | Since you like to use external sources, (and post that fact only later on), have you tried forcing Q806 turn on? |
04-02-2009 | | There are many resources online "how to desolder/solder" available via search engine.
Order part - examine part - find SAME identical part on circuit board (hint: mounts against a heat sink - there are only a limited amount of heat sinks and |
04-02-2009 | | You could always jumper across the fusible resistors and "follow the smoke" |
04-02-2009 | | You could try asking your neighbors, friends and other acquaintances in your area. |
